“What’s Love Got to Do With It”   a new workshop with David Epston,  re-imagining the future of narrative therapy




The workshop will focus on innovations and new directions for Narrative Therapy. These developments will be set in the context of narrative therapy practices over the last 30 plus years and point to the development new and recent contextualizations for future practices. Innovative techniques such as Insider Witness Practices will be demonstrated. Projects addressing a variety of specialized clinical populations will be introduced. Varied cultural contexts from around the world will be described and exemplified.


  1. Understanding and articulation of  two or more recent concepts in Narrative Therapy theory.
  2. Develop competency in one new or extended Narrative Therapy technique for clinical intervention.
  3. Learn how to apply  a minimum of  one recent Narrative Therapy practice to a minimum of one new client population.
  4. Identify and understand one  or more new cultural contexts for Narrative Therapy practice.



This presentation is intended for licensed mental health providers and graduate students in psychology, social work, and related clinical fields. People new to Narrative Therapy are welcome as well as advanced practitioners.

COSTS: The cost for registration for the 2 days is $225 or $179 each person for groups of 3 or more registering together.

CEU’s  (#137319) is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for licensed mental health professionals and graduate students preparing for those professions. maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.

This course is intended to meet the qualifications for 12 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. (No additional fees.)
